The EU has issued a nickel directive known as EN 1811. Its purpose is to prevent allergies and hypersensitivity associated with contact with nickel. The limit for how much nickel may leach per cm² per week over a 2-year period is up to 0.5 µg/cm²/week. A margin of error of up to 0.88 µg/cm²/week is permitted. You can read more about this here.
Our jewelry has been tested and nickel emissions must be below the limit or non-existent. That is what we call hypoallergenic.
