WHAT IS TUNGSTEN?
TUNGSTEN
With a melting point of 3,422°C, tungsten is known for its incredibly high temperature tolerance. It is one of the most robust materials available. Itsdensity and hardness make it an ideal candidate for a wide range of applications, such as aerospace technology and high-performance tools.
Tungsten is an essential component in jewelry manufacturing. Thanks to its durability and scratch resistance, tungsten rings are the perfect choice for those seeking both style and durability in their jewelry.
Our rings are made from a mixture oftungsten and carbon. To bind these materials and give the ring its polished finish, we use a small amount of nickel. The material bonds extremely tightly, which is why the nickel content in our rings isbelow the EU limit and is considered nickel-safe.
WHERE DOES THE NAME COME FROM?
The name "Tungsten" was coined by the Swedish mineralogistAxel Fredrik Cronstedt and refers to the material's high density. We have chosen to continue using the name "Tungsten" because we feel it suits us better. The Swedish name is actually "Volframkarbid."
